ART – personal work, collaborations & commissions

I studied classical art materials and techniques at SACI College of Art & Design, in Florence, Italy.

With the support of scholarships and grants, I was able to immerse myself in the history and beauty there while learning art history, darkroom photography, sculpture, traditional Italian fresco, architecture, and design.

Some learning has came through immersive, on-site practice; other lessons arrive through mentorship, peer collaboration, and unexpected sources of creative influence.

OLD WORK - formative years

I graduated college with dual degrees in Fine Art & Anthropology from the University of Hawaii, Hilo,  with high honors.

I like to imagine myself as an anthropological artist (in practice at least). I love exploring culture, perspective, and memory through visual language.

My work considers individual experience in contrast with universals like birth, death, love, and grief.

I’m often motivated in my work by curiosity—about what makes us unique and where our shared humanity begins.

RECENT ARTWORK

A painter first, I love mixing materials, often starting with graphite and building with acrylic, oils & gold leaf (in that order). Lately I've enjoyed learning more about concrete, plaster, tile mosaic.

INSPO

Travel fuels my heart and I chase it at all costs, for the perspective it offers and connections made along the way
